My love of sewing began in the 4th grade when I started sewing garments in 4-H and entering them into the fashion show we had at our county fair. As the years progressed and my sewing skills increased, I was able to create more intricate garments. The last two years I was involved in the sewing program, I advanced to the state level and won scholarships to attend Iowa State University and major in Apparel Merchandising and Design, for being in the top 3% that went to state.

Then throughout my four years attending Iowa State, I was able to learn more techniques and sharpen my skills even more. I learned how to make my own paper patterns and drape fabric on a dress form. I entered garments into the annual fashion show at Iowa State my sophomore and senior years, as well as creating countless projects for multiple classes.
